Winter front door decor

Now that winter is officially upon us and we're in full holiday mode, I thought it was about time we shared our front door decor. Truth be told, because nothing here is too Christmas-y, this will probably all stay until well into February, so bundle up and come take a look!Let me show you what the front door looked like without snow and ice!Ok, now that I see that photo I kind of sort of miss the warmth of summer, but the snow is so dang pretty!Ever since we replaced our front door, decorating this space is definitely a joy and not a chore (though, if I'm honest, the red brick + yellow siding + maroon trim do not bring me any level of joy). This VistaGrande door from Masonite, however, MAJOR JOYFUL VIBES! I even wrote a whole post about how we chose our front door, in case you're interested. Now back to decorating... I kept it very simple out here and used the same planters that we already had hostas in during the summer months. I also used those for mums in the fall!I did take away a couple of small planters, but the lantern stayed, and I brought back the vintage aluminium bucket I had in the garage filled with firewood because it gives me cozy winter vibes. The trees are all ones we've been collecting over the years - once upon a time that green one was our actual Christmas tree inside, but it's an outdoor tree and I love how it works with the wreaths we have.I also changed over our doormat to something a little more seasonal, and I am obsessed! It's hard to find mats to fit on our step, but this one is just the perfect size!My very favourite thing about all of this? The fact that our front door no longer lets in cold air, no longer requires me to body check it to open OR close it, and actually works with our door hardware. All in all, Masonite came through and saved our sanity (and our gas bill). Again, if you want to see the door we have, its the VistaGrande door - a super high-quality fiberglass door with frosted glass.I love driving up to this view every day!
