A whole week? Really?

Yes… One week since I last posted anything!  So let me warn you now – this post has no projects, no DIYs and no photos of anything I have done this week because guess what?  I haven’t done anything!  Between having another dog at home (we were dog-sitting my brother’s pup, James Brown, which has been amazingly fun and awesome!), and supply teaching basically every single day, I’m so insanely tired!  Maybe having a desk job for so long has not prepared me well for standing all day, asking children to please sit down and listen to me?  Not that I don’t like the job – it’s been incredibly rewarding already and I literally learn new things every day!  Can’t go wrong with that, right?

So here is a little something I have been thinking about… a few weeks ago Alex saw this little table sitting on the side of the road and thought I’d like it… we drove back past it and sure enough, it was a lovely shape.  He loaded it into the trunk as I giggled and squealed in the front seat.  I LOVE free stuff!!! I don’t have any photos of it – I know… sorry!  I know I need to paint it, that’s for sure.  How do I know?  Well, friends, the table is covered in brown flowered wallpaper.  Awesome, right?  No!  So here is what I am considering:

So I’m obviously thinking of trying to do gold dipped legs, or potentially paint the table and leave the ‘dipped’ part in the natural wood.  The new obsession with gold is really getting over the top, huh?  Or not… it’s a super cool table, and it needs something trendy.  I just figured, what better trend than this?  It has a similar shape to the blue-painted table above, so you have an idea.

Thoughts?  Is this a good trend, or am I going to have a crazy-looking table?

Sorry for the lack of posts – I’ll be back as soon as I have managed to clean my house and work on some of my many, many, many ongoing projects!

Hope you’re all enjoying the Spring weather!

I can’t wait to see what you end up doing with this table you’ve found, Thalita! And I’m totally with you on the gold obsession, so I love the idea of gold-dipped table legs…or gold-dipped anything for that matter. Do it!

I can understand your fatigue after a week full of teaching. Hopefully you can really use this weekend to recharge and get some rest. And no pressure to post! I’ll certainly be here whenever you do have the time and energy to share. You not gettin’ rid of me!

Thanks Lauren!!! I want to gold dip the kitchen chairs too haha! But that might be too much… We’ll see!

Thanks for the support! Even if the school day is only 7 hours long, and I teach for 6 of those, I feel beat up at the end of the day! But it’s a good tired :)

I know exactly what you mean! Last year, I would get home from a long day of teaching followed by musical rehearsal bouncing off of the walls from how charged I was by it all, until I sat down on the couch for a moment and then I was ready to pass out! Ha ha.
