The Day I Walked Through a $3.7 Million House

Hiya lovelies!!

Intrigued by the title of this post?  Well let me go ahead and tell you all about the Princess Margaret  show home in Oakville, ON. I had the pleasure of being invited to tour the house with a group of wonderful bloggers and Brian Gluckstein (designer of this incredible space) himself.

Can you believe that Master Bathroom?  There’s a library in it!  The entire house is fantastic.

But wait…

What does this have to do with my 31 Day Series?  How is this about “no stuff” and living simply, with what you have?

The common thread with likely ALL people who tour this house is that we would ALL love to live in it!  Who wouldn’t?  It’s stunning!

You know what ran through my mind when I looked at all of the rooms?  How people would use it.  How people would live in it.  How my own family could make use of this 7,500 square foot home.  I’m going to let myself to speak for myself on my favourite room of the house.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt!?!?!?!  That’s me!  Talking about the amazingly huge family room in the basement.

Yep.  I chose the family room… out of all rooms int his house (and there were MANY), I picked the room I could see myself and my family in the most because it has huge couches and a feeling of coziness other parts of the house had less of, perhaps due to the darker, warmer tones in here.

What I’m saying is, in a $3.7 million house, I was most drawn to the basement.  The hangout spot. The cozy, having-a-lazy-Friday-night room.

Because that’s the stuff that matters, even in a multimillion dollar home.  I think Brian Gluckstein really got that, and nailed it.  I mean, he nailed the entire house, let’s be serious!

If you’d like to know more about the Princess Margaret Cancer Center and where proceeds go, just click right here.  You can get your own ticket and a chance to win some amazing prizes, including this beautiful home, and it’s all for a great cause. Tickets are 70% sold, so get on it!

Don’t you want a chance to put your feet up on that humongous couch?

How cool is this?! What an awesome opportunity you had to explore this home. Did you make friends with any bloggers? Did you take all of the photos? (So many questions, I know.) They’re awesome! And that video was too cool; you’re so much fun to listen to – – I hope you keep making videos of you and your fab self. And I think I would have been most drawn to the cozy basement, too – – it’s such a live-able looking space! Thanks for allowing us to take this tour with you! We’re so spoiled. :-)

It was surreal – this home had copper eavestroughs all the way around it. Insane. There were quite a few bloggers I recognized from Blog Podium and a few others I got to meet for the first time and connect with, which was so awesome! I took way more photos than I posted, but yes – these ones were all mine taken on my phone – I was THAT blogger without a camera at the multi-million dollar house!

I despise hearing myself on video, of course, but thank you! I was surprised they asked me, but I was happy to do it!
