SCARF WEEK 2014 (square)

Introducing: SCARF WEEK

SCARF WEEK 2014 (square 2)When I was a kid, I always had this irrational fear of sharks. I had nightmares about them, imagined seeing a fin while swimming, and even felt a little uneasy in pools! Like I said… irrational! Yet one of my favourite movies was Jaws and I had this sick need to watch Shark Week on The Discovery Channel every single year, and again when they repeated the shows. Am I alone here? Please say no…

Ok, so where is all of this going? Well the amazing Lauren of The Thinking Closet with her genius punny mastermind came up with Scarf Week. And yes, it happens the exact same week as Shark Week. Punny!!!!

So who are these lovely ladies? Well we have Allison from Dream a Little Bigger who is oh-so-creative and has amazingly cool projects from DIY glitter nail polish to how to make your own loom!!! You know that second face – that’s just me! Lauren from The Thinking Closet is no stranger around here! She’s known for incredible projects like her rolltop desk makeover and this super awesome recycling center made from recycled materials! And now we get to Vanessa from Tried & True whose craftiness knows no bounds. Check out her mint-ginger pills (perfect for your pregnant friends) and this crazy cute travel picnic blanket

How Will Scarf Week Work?

So, let me break it down for you:

The 4 of us will each share a new tutorial every day for 4 days, which means you’ll be getting 16 inspirational scarf tutorials this week! “So Scarfy” indeed, Rob Lowe:

You got a glimpse of what you can expect from these lovely ladies this week, and I can’t wait to see it all myself! As for what you can expect to see here? Well I’m focusing on repurposing scarves, so you can look forward to ideas for what to do with scarves that you no longer want, or maybe those scarves you ripped, stained, or for whatever reason can’t use as a scarf any longer. Tomorrow’s tutorial involves pastel colours and is the simplest DIY – possibly ever!

Get excited, people! See you back here tomorrow!

Have been surfing your site and am enjoying your projects. One question, did I miss part 2 of the kitchen? I can’t seem to find it. Just wondering!

Hi Carolyn! Well first of all, thanks for looking around! Secondly, I was a bad blogger and never posted part 2! It’s coming… along with a review of the paint I used after a couple of years of wear and tear and some more details on cost. I promise… I will finish that post soon!
