The Learner Observer

Hey guys!  Gals! People of the internet! It’s been a quiet few weeks here at The L.O. because we’ve been oh so busy with some big DIY projects around our house – and I mean that literally! We’re landscaping the front, side and back of the house and have been digging for a few days to get started on this massively huge job. To anyone who landscapes regularly (lookin’ at you, dad!), I bow down to you and your mighty strength. This stuff is HARD, you know?!

Anyway, I figured it’d be good to let you know I’m still here, still alive, in case you’ve missed posts on Instagram and whatnot. Speaking of Instagram, stay tuned for an awesome giveaway involving just that!

See? I'm alright. And eating cake for breakfast, because... why not?

See? I’m alright. And eating cake for breakfast, because… why not?

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but I recently started writing for LC Living – a blog that features awesome stuff from a Canadian retailer, Linen Chest. Now here are but a few of the reasons I love Linen Chest and writing for LC Living: they have insanely great customer service, you can shop at their physical stores or online, and they carry seriously cool products – like tons of Kate Spade awesomeness. How can you go wrong with all of that, right?

Allow me to let you in on a little secret: they’re having a HUGE sale this weekend to celebrate the opening of the 6th store in the Greater Toronto Area and you definitely should not miss it. I mean it! Keep reading, because when we’re done here you won’t WANT to miss it.

I’ve put together for you a few of my favourite items – and when I say a few, I mean that so very literally because there could be dozens and dozens more here!

LC Living WishList

You might be thinking one of three things: 1: I have a thing for things that hold liquids? 2: Who wants a blanket when Summer has just started? And 3: Girl’s got an obsession with black and white!

Ok well the fact that there are glasses and a mug are pure coincidence. That Kate Spade mug though, has been on my wish list for some time and I even used it for an upcoming LC Living post. Shhh… I didn’t say that! The blanket is just too delicious to pass up. The reversible feature, neutral colours and polka dots? This blankie gets me! And you totally already knew about the black and white thing, so that’s not news!

So would you like to go spend some mula at LC Living?

What if I told you it’s not YOUR money?

Thought so.

Well you’re in luck because you could win a $50 gift card to Linen Chest!

Here’s whatcha gotta do: Find me on Instagram and look for the Grand Opening image I have above. Not the wish list one, the one before it. Now follow the instructions on the image, which are to follow Linen Chest on Instagram, repost the image I have for you and tag it #LinenChestGTA. Or… use the Rafflecopter below to get even more entries!

Go ahead, I’ll be here waiting…

Thinking about how pretty my peonies are now that they FINALLY bloomed!

And also singing a little “Fancy” to myself…

a Rafflecopter giveaway

“I’m so fancy. You already knoooow. I’m in the fast lane from…”

Oh you’re back. Sorry about the off-key singing…

Ok now that you’re all done, you can go ahead and feel awesome about yourself.

Just before I go, here are a few important details. The contest runs until this Sunday, June 22nd. A winner will be chosen at random and contacted via Instagram, at which point he/she will have 48 hours to claim their prize before it goes to someone else. Linen Chest did indeed sponsor this post, and I am oh so happy they did because I truly love them and would never ever lie to you guys. I’m also happy because you get to potentially win a kick-butt prize!

That is all! Hope you’re having a wicked awesome week! I’ll be back soon to share what amazing things I get at the sale this weekend!

I saw some of your landscaping-photos on instagram and I’m excited to see the final result! I’m pretty sure it will be awesome! Although I’d love to have a garden with my new apartment I’m at the same time afraid of it – because of all the lanscaping and garden work…
And I’m totally with Lauren about the “It always seems impossible until it’s done” note: It looks really awesome :)

    Have a great week <3

    Love, Midsommarflicka

Thanks, Mid!! I can’t wait for the backyard to be done so we can actually use it! The garden work can be a lot, but it can also be really worth it. It’s a great way to get yourself outdoors and learn a few new things – at least for a black thumb like me!
Oh and thanks for the compliment on the note! It’s just a nice little reminder when I feel overwhelmed :)
