Non-Camping Ceramic Mugs & a Cricut Package Giveaway!

I used to be moderately outdoorsy – my husband and I would go camping in the Summer, and I do love the smell of a campfire, but now? With two toddlers? My idea of being outdoorsy consists of hanging out in our backyard, running after the boys, swatting mosquitoes. I can’t possibly fathom putting up a tent and roasting marshmallows peacefully with these two! But I will say – one day I DO look forward to those experiences with them. Once there are no diapers involved, cribs, etc… we’ll rethink the whole camping thing. For now, I’m making myself some hot coffee to go in my non-camping ceramic mugs.

I used my Cricut Explore One™ to cut the gold metallic vinyl and I got the mugs at the dollar store for $1.50 each! Can you believe that? They’re so cute!

To start, I made up the sayings I wanted on each mug, which you can get here.

I then cut them on gold vinyl and used transfer tape to, well, TRANSFER the words onto the mugs.

There are a lot of very small bits with these cuts, so you do have to be pretty careful when removing the excess vinyl! The letters in the word “indoors” in particular gave me a hard time, but it all worked out!

Now you can use the clear transfer tape, and again, be careful with the small parts.

The grid on the transfer tape is great for making sure everything is straight and lined up! Now I’m ready to actually get these words on the mugs.

Excuse the giant mess on my desk, ok?

And just like that, you’re done!

Here are the other two designs:

I won’t be putting these in the dishwasher, but they’re totally ok to be hand washed!

What to pair these with? Pink bonbons, of course – the least camping-like candy of all! And now they’re ready for some hot coffee…

…with a sprinkle of cocoa, of course…

You may remember another Cricut project I made – the tea towel that is also revolving around my love of coffee. Do you see a theme here? And if you’d like to make any of these yourself, but don’t have a Cricut machine, don’t worry – you can win one! I’m co-hosting a giveaway with some lovely ladies (see more below) for a package that will include:

I love the mugs and the sayings! My husband always jokes about me sitting home eating bon bons! I’d love a Cricut for lots of different crafting possibilities. I have three children under the age of four and crafting has become an easy outlet for me that I can do whilst they’re napping or after they’ve gone to bed!

Thalita you did not get those mugs at the dollar store!!! They are AMAZING! I am in love with the teal one. I’m positive that my dollar store doesn’t have anything as cute as those! I love the quotes that you put on them. We just got back from a camping trip and I’m wishing that I was still there. These would put me in a vacation state of mind all the time! Pinning this project! I’m going to hunt down those mugs and come back to make them!
