Hey you guys! So I know it’s been like WAY too many weeks since my last post, but this pregnancy has been a roller coaster ride! I finally feel like I’m getting back to normal…because I’m not a zombie with eternal morning sickness, and all!
So today I wanted to share one of the projects from my ORC Office Makeover with you because it was one of the easiest, quickest furniture makeovers I have ever attempted, and this little table has been used in two rooms of the house already.
Here’s how the table started out when I got it for $8 at the Habitat ReStore:
I started with the legs because it seemed like the easiest thing to do, and it was! I just did a little measuring and taping and voila! Paint-dipped legs!
Next came the top, which I was a bit worried about. Geometry is not my forte, so I totally just made up a pattern with tape. Here’s a quick GIF to show you the step-by-step:
Easy peasy, right? I used a craft-store brand of chalk paint for this, and it’s held up beautifully so far! Also, because the paint is so thick, there was no bleeding through the painter’s tape – bonus! I also painted the edge once all of the tape was removed for a more finished look.
I love this little table, and I just happen to have a second one just like it that I may or may not need to paint in the exact same way! Here’s the table in the office:
And a view from above, so you can see my geometry skills!
And that’s that!
Have you ever painted a table like this before? I love how unique the look is, without being difficult to create – kind of my favourite combo. Also, this took about 30 minutes and cost me about $10 in total to make. Totally worth it, if you ask me!
Promise to be back soon with a few more of the office projects before I start bombarding you with nursery stuff! Eek! I can’t wait!!
