The Friday Five: Give Me Gold Polka Dots

The Friday 5: First Edition

Happy Happy Friday, everyone! I will have you know that this week’s Friday Five comes to you in full colour and with PICTURES!  Yes, Johanna, Gillian, fellow visual lovers out there… I heard you and thank you for your input!  Just one quick reminder to all you lovely and wonderful readers – if you Pin these images, please click on the corresponding link or the image itself, which will take you to the original source.  Pin away from there, because I would hate to see credit go to the wrong person (aka: me).  Now let’s get this thing started!

Here are this week’s picks:

Picture 12I am falling in love with Fall.  I honestly don’t know what happened to Summer this year, and somehow I didn’t really miss it.  It was a busy one around our house with very little time to do our usual camping and lounging in the sun – it was more filled with gardening, cleaning, renos… you get the drift!  Either way, I find myself ready for Fall colours, and this gallery wall has them all without being too obvious thanks to all of the blues and whites.  Check out Decor8’s entire post for more Fall colours done just oh-so-right!

.

Creative Homemaking book image with shadowI have been a longtime reader of Domestic Fashionista because she has an incredible way of making beautiful things look somehow MORE beautiful!  She’s a lovely, lovely writer and she made her 2012 31 Day Series into an e-book!  I strongly urge you to not only read her blog, but read the series as well.  She will not disappoint!

.

hS5wv8SE9v9zt47xFMj1H59VI know many of you have probably already seen this – it’s been all over the web and Pinterest this week!  I just couldn’t resist… I mean, a giant gold polka dot wall!?!?  Oh my heart!  Lauren Conrad’s team has done it again!

.

Customize-Ikea-Frames2Give me me an IKEA project, and my answer to it will always be YES!  This is definitely one I will be attempting.  I already started when I spray painted those cameo mats, but this is a whole new level!  You’ll want to click over to 6th Street Design School to see what Brittany used to make those perfect black and white stripes!

.

Screen-Shot-2013-09-11-at-11.28.31-AMThe Nester can do no wrong, people.  NO WRONG!  If you’ve been living in a blogging bubble like me, you know all about her move to home ownership and the world’s greatest barn.  Now she has gone and done the unthinkable – painted her window frames black.  This is the stuff dreams are made of!  I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t daydreamed of having my very own windows painted to have black frames.  So chic!!!

Now this wouldn’t be a real Friday 5 without ANOTHER 5 links from our girl, Lauren.  Head on over to The Thinking Closet to see Lauren’s The Friday Five: Downton Arby’s.

And there you have it.  A little late today, but the saying ‘better late than never’ will not be underused on this blog!  Alex and I are off to enjoy an extended weekend, and I truly hope that you all have a beautiful (almost) Fall weekend!  Look out for a very special post this Sunday – it’s nearest and dearest to my heart!

xoxo

I honestly love your blog. It’s beautiful and colorful indeed. I actually tried this giant gold polka dot wall on my newly bought home from NW Calgary real estate and its looks elegant and very neat as well.
