10 Easy(ish) DIY Projects For the Weekend

After 6+ years of blogging, I have had my share of DIY projects (but don't go too far back because they get embarrassing - FAST!) I've never really done a roundup of my own projects before, so I thought it was about time I shared 10 of my most popular and easy DIY projects with you!Let's get right to it!

1. Painted Buffalo Check Wall

I sure do love this wall, though if I'm also totally honest, sometimes I think about painting over it! I KNOW! Crazy, right? You can head to another post to see all of my best tips for painting a gingham pattern.dining room with green buffalo plaid wall, grey table, 3 wooden chairs and a wooden bench, round wooden mirror on the wall and black chandelier.

2. Double Sliding Doors

This is actually the number one most popular DIY project according to you guys, but I didn't put these in any particular order. It seems that people want to know how to make double barn doors on a budget!

3. A 5-minute Boot Tray Fix

Once upon a time, I walked into the dollar store and bought like 7 bags of rocks. The cashier had never been so confused in all her 18-year-old life! But this simple trick of putting rocks in a boot tray means we don't see the messy salt stains and wet boots drain properly.

4. Laundry Room Countertops

The laundry room makeover is always a popular post (I think the pink walls and lemon wallpaper have something to do with it). The wood countertops we made around the sink and on top of the washer and dryer were so inexpensive and easy! Anyone can make this happen!

5. Shiplap Entry

Who decided to shiplap an entryway while several months pregnant with twins? THIS GAL! I actually really enjoyed this project (especially the funny looks I got at Home Depot while getting my MDF cut to size).Entryway makeover with faux shiplap and a DIY picture ledge

6. How to Plan an IKEA Kitchen

Ok, so this isn't a DIY, but it's a GREAT first step if you're thinking about designing your own IKEA kitchen. The Learner Observer IKEA SEKTION LAXARBY kitchen makeover

7. Tufted Leather Headboard

This is one of those "back in the day" posts, so looking at these photos make me cringe a little, but man, I was so proud of this DIY tufted headboard! I may have had raw fingertips from pushing through the leather with a needle to attach the buttons. Worth it!

8. Wood Scrap Book Stand

I use a lot of cookbooks because I'm not one of those naturally talented people who can pull spices out of the spice rack and make a gourmet meal. My husband is, but I like to follow instructions. For everything. So I made this wooden book stand for our kitchen (mostly for me to use), and I still love it! It's also great for tablets!

9. Kate Spade-Inspired Storage Box

Another oldie but a goodie... this one even made a TV debut when I showed a daytime talk show host how I made it! Yep, I still have this black and white striped box and still use it all these years later!Kate Spade-Inspired Storage by The Learner Observer

10. Upcycled Woven Stool

This thrift store find was dirty and quite ugly when I got it, but I cut out the original burgundy rope and added some of my own. We still have this little woven rope stool in our sunroom!DIY Woven Rope Stool using a Thrift Store Stool | The Learner Observer | http://thelearnerobserver.com/diy-woven-stoolNow how would you like to see a few more round-ups of some seriously awesome DIYs?
