Why I love having a ceiling fan in my bedroom
The temperature in our bedroom is ALWAYS a little "off." There's a big, uninsulated room right next to it, and it's not super fun in the Summer when it's 40 degrees in there, nor is it great in the Winter when it's ice cold. Enter the ceiling fan to save us! Yes, seriously! Emerson Fans has ensured that we never have an "off" night in here again, and I'm JUST. SO. HAPPY.

I also ended up adding some DIY abstract paintings and pastel colours to the space, but I've since found that I prefer a neutral palette in this space because that's way more visually relaxing for me.
I was slightly apprehensive about a ceiling fan for a few reasons:
- I thought they would all be ugly
- I didn't think it'd be safe to have it above my bed, wobbling all over the place
- I wasn't sure it would actually change anything about the temperature of the room
I WAS SO WRONG!
- There's nothing ugly about these fans from Emerson, and I ended up choosing the Ideal fan in white and gold, which matches our space perfectly. This fan does also come in black and gold and graphite colour, and I can tell you this: you can't go wrong with any of the colours!
- This fan makes no noise, and nothing but the blades move, which is fantastic! There's nothing to be concerned about and I clearly had some weird vision of a 1980's ceiling fan wobbling above my head while I slept. Nope. Not here!
- As far as what this does for our room, well, I came to learn that it keeps us mighty cool on these hot Summer nights, and come Winter, we'll be able to switch the direction the blades rotate in so that warm air gets pushed down to us. Literal win-win! Plus, this fan has a light, so it was the perfect replacement for this spot.
