The Day I Walked Through a $3.7 Million House
Hiya lovelies!!Intrigued by the title of this post? Well let me go ahead and tell you all about the Princess Margaret show home in Oakville, ON. I had the pleasure of being invited to tour the house with a group of wonderful bloggers and Brian Gluckstein (designer of this incredible space) himself.
Can you believe that Master Bathroom? There's a library in it! The entire house is fantastic. But wait...What does this have to do with my 31 Day Series? How is this about "no stuff" and living simply, with what you have? The common thread with likely ALL people who tour this house is that we would ALL love to live in it! Who wouldn't? It's stunning! You know what ran through my mind when I looked at all of the rooms? How people would use it. How people would live in it. How my own family could make use of this 7,500 square foot home. I'm going to let myself to speak for myself on my favourite room of the house.Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt!?!?!?! That's me! Talking about the amazingly huge family room in the basement.Yep. I chose the family room... out of all rooms int his house (and there were MANY), I picked the room I could see myself and my family in the most because it has huge couches and a feeling of coziness other parts of the house had less of, perhaps due to the darker, warmer tones in here. What I'm saying is, in a $3.7 million house, I was most drawn to the basement. The hangout spot. The cozy, having-a-lazy-Friday-night room.Because that's the stuff that matters, even in a multimillion dollar home. I think Brian Gluckstein really got that, and nailed it. I mean, he nailed the entire house, let's be serious! If you'd like to know more about the Princess Margaret Cancer Center and where proceeds go, just click right here.
