Give Back Charity Blog Hop

With all the pressures of what to buy over the Holidays, it's nice to be able to give back in a way that doesn't require busy mall parking lots and that actually makes you feel good! This year I've partnered with 9 other bloggers to bring you the Give Back Charity Blog Hop, where we'll each be focusing on a cause that's near and dear to our hearts.screen-shot-2016-12-19-at-6-07-29-amWhen Brynne of The Gathered Home (you may now hew from #thriftscorethursday) asked if I'd like to take part in this, I knew my answer was an immediate YES! And I knew right away what my cause would be, given that at the time I was coming up on celebrating Jude & Luca's first birthday (more on that coming soon to the blog - you can say I was a wee bit emotional about it all). Looking at how little they were and reliving that time in our lives has been amazing. We (THEY) have come so far. Look at how small they were!15571336_10101971094084177_2059503200_nSo, the organization I'm choosing to talk about today is the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation. As some of you may know, I had Jude & Luca prematurely a year ago. They were born at 35 weeks (almost 36) and spent a week in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit afterwards with breathing and body temperature issues. To say it was a hard week would be an understatement, but I found so much love and encouragement within the walls of that NICU - from nurses, doctors, social workers, and fellow parents who found themselves in much tougher situations than mine, who had to leave their little ones at the end of the day and go home empty handed for weeks on end. I simply could not imagine, and I cried with more than one mom as we swapped NICU stories that week. But what does the CPBF really do? They offer support for these parents, information and research. They want to raise awareness of premature births and give continued support to kids and families, even after they leave the NICU, because believe me, that support is very much needed. This isn't meant to make you sad. It's not meant to make you feel sorry for anyone. It's just something that is near and dear to my heart that I needed to share with you, and this is the perfect season for it.So if this is something close to your heart this season, if you've been looking for a way to give back but didn't know where to start, here it is. You can donate to the CPBF right here, and you can see lots of other ways to give through my fellow blogging friends below. So go check them all out. You're sure to find a very worthwhile cause!I hope this week is filled with love and anticipation for the beautiful day we're about to celebrate!give-back-charity-blog-hop
