Hex everything. Because it's trendy, right? Also because it's just a great shape that fits together with its other hexagonal mates. I have hex floors in the bathroom, as well. And I just worked on some hex stools. Like I said before...hex everything. So why not some hexagonal cork boards to fit a small awkward space above my desk?Make hexagon cork boards out of dollar store cork tiles - by TheThese were pretty simple to make and cost me a whopping $4. Not too bad, right?I used some cork tiles from the dollar store, a ruler and a utility knife, as you can see here:Make hexagon cork boards out of dollar store cork tiles - by TheI measured the hexagon shape and got to cutting. How do you measure a hexagon? Don't ask me. I honestly still don't know how I did it, but you can see a few ways to do it right here (my method was basically to freehand it).Make hexagon cork boards out of dollar store cork tiles - by TheI then cut it using the ruler and knife, then traced the shape onto the other tile boards, then cut those out. It' s a good thing I had 4 tiles but only planned on using 3 since I totally butchered one of these. Yikes!Make hexagon cork boards out of dollar store cork tiles - by TheI simply nailed these onto the wall right under a shelf in the office. It's a tight space that could use a little more interest than just a square board, so this does the trick nicely!Make hexagon cork boards out of dollar store cork tiles - by TheAnd there you have it! Such an easy project that can easily be completed during nap time (even the short half hour ones!).Make hexagon cork boards out of dollar store cork tiles - by TheThey're not perfect by any means, but I pretty much say that about all of my projects! Because it's true!
