Modern Artwork Made From a Thrifted Frame Using a Cricut

I love being able to change over artwork in our house. Whether that happens seasonally, or just because I need a change, it’s one of the easiest ways to change the feel of a room. Did you know you can make some great modern artwor using a Cricut Explore Air 2 though? I’ve done it before but today I’m going to show you how I did it using a thrifted frame!

Please note this post is sponsored by Cricut. All opinions are my own.

First I downloaded some art and organic shapes and uploaded them into Cricut Design Space - it’s so easy to take your own files and have them either drawn or cut with your Cricut machine!

First, put it together. You can see my file here, if you want to recreate it!

The thrifted frame I got was already perfect on its own, in a matte stained finish. I took the old print out and painted the particle board backing with some leftover latex paint.

I chose 3 colours of removable matte vinyl to keep everything monochromatic and muted. I used Arrowhead, Greige, Suntan and Cream. The main piece is the face, which printed SO well! It actually looks like paint! Check this out:
