Powder Room Update with Brass Accents

This little powder room has been fairly neutral since we finished it, and only recently have I started to put a bit more colour into it with artwork and a hand towel - seriously. But it was time for a little something more, maybe even something shiny! Enter Nostalgic Warehouse, who very graciously sponsored this little makeover for myself and my 4 Modern Handmade Home blogging buds - you can see more about that at the bottom of this post.To start, let's see what this powder room used to look like... And here are some of the pieces I decided to update it with: (The knob and pate combo are the Fifth Avenue Plate with Chambord Crystal Knob in polished brass.)So pretty, right? Well, before putting this up, I painted the inside of the door in the same black as the ceiling - Fusion Mineral Paint's Coal BlackNext I changed the hinges, which made such a difference in the whole look of the door, and obviously it was great to have these ball tip hinges match the rest of the hardware. This might seem like a minor detail, but in a room this small, where the inside and outside of the door are seen often, I had to make sure everything was just right! While everything dried, I changed over the switch plates to these Deco Switch Plates. I also changed the one just outside of the powder room to really make all of the brass details stand out, but also seem intentional, which they obviously are!I changed over some artwork from these more summer-like prints to these cheeky plates that I just love oh so much! I'm hoping the plant will like being in here as well, so this room can always have a little hint of Spring/Summer year round! The door knob is also reflective of the antique one we have on the barn door of our mudroom. Since there aren't a lot of doors on this floor, I felt good about the decision to have this one stand out, while still having a little something to pull them together.I'm so happy with how these small changes have made such a big impact on our space! If you'd like to see some more of Nostalgic Warehouse's magic, go check out the posts below!Bedroom doors - Lemon ThistleHallway doors - Love Create CelebrateCraft room door and dresser - The Sweetest DigsEntry doors - Harlow & Thistle
