The Friday Five: First Edition

The Friday Five - 2

It's here!  It's here!  The first edition of The Friday Five!  What makes this different from The Weekend Winners, you ask?  Content-wise, not much.  I'm still going to share a few (five, to be exact) of my favourite findings from the web every Friday.  That is the only thing staying the same, though.  I'm now co-hosting The Friday Five with the beautiful and smart and funny and crafty and creative and wonderful (I could go on) Lauren from The Thinking Closet.  This is just about the most exciting news ever, right?  Right! How did we get started?  So glad you asked.  I posted this last week, toying with the idea of changing the title of the Weekend Winners to The Friday Five - I had a poll all set up and everything!  Then I saw it... Lauren's post aptly titled "The Friday Five: A Jig in a Tiny Little Hat."  I immediately took my poll down as Lauren sweetly left these comments on the post:Picture 1And the rest... well why don't you go ahead and see the best part(which was amazingly put together by Lauren) for yourself!

ComicStrip-Yeah!

Honestly, I know what you're thinking, and yes, we are basically the cheesiest coolest people in the world. Now this is it... here we go.  Let's make some history!

Here are this week's picks:

DIY-Papercut-Inspired-Wall-Hanging-by-Penelope-and-Pip_Finished1PTThis is not only a wonderful reminder, but also a fantastic fabric DIY project!  This post was featured on Poppytalk this week and was created by Rachel of Penelope and Pip using a floral fabric, denim, some string, dowels and double sided fusible interfacing.  Easy?  Yes... and such a great thing to have around the house that can be changed with the seasons!

080906_fetapourYes. Please.  How yummylicious does this look? Jill from Minimally Invasive shares this recipe for some flavoured feta with thyme, oregano, pepper, basil, bay leaves, and lemon zest.  Doesn't that sound incredible?  And imagine using the remaining olive oil on some salad... or just with some freshly baked bread.  I am salivating!

DSC02886How genius is this?  By our very own Lauren at The Thinking Closet, this tutorial is nothing short of life-altering!  Making your gel manicure last EVEN LONGER?  I'll take it.  With sparkles?  Again... I'll take it.  I don't need to say any more, do I?

Victoria of Inspired Interiors actually made a staircase and hallway magical!  Her project was featured on Apartment Therapy, so go see more images of this incredible space there, please!

3-26-marionhouse-03Total coincidence that I picked two links with the same message!  Maybe it's because lately I am feeling more and more inspired to take risks and DO WHAT I LOVE, and that is (in a very big way) blogging and tearing up my house to make it a fresher, more inspired space for our family to live in.  So here is hoping that "the rest will follow" because I truly do not want to give up this little adventure!  [Source]

I cannot say enough how excited I am to be collaborating with Lauren.  She is such an incredible person, whom I am so happy to call friend, even though we are separated by about 2,100 kilometers (that's roughly 1,300 miles)!  Now go see what 5 links she chose to share with us this week!!
