Weekend Winners ~ 7

weekendThis week has certainly been different from the last.  I actually took a day off, got some chores done, began and finished more projects around the house (including the little bass lovelies from Thursday's post), and started to define the randomness of the upstairs rooms - Luther no longer has his "own room" (which means we had a lose pup around the house a few times) and Alex has an impromptu office/studio until the real one is finished.  Less of a roller coaster, which I am totally ok with.  How was YOUR week?

HERE ARE THIS WEEK'S WINNERS:

opt-mailbox-storage-gardenA "new" way to store gardening tools, anyone?  I have to say, I like it.  This could be especially cute if you happen to have a garden shed with the mailbox beside it!  Yay or nay? Gives me a reason to buy an old mailbox, maybe?  Because I definitely need more reasons to buy old stuff.... (Pure sarcasm)..

stitched picturesOk, maybe it's the adorable puppy faces, but is this project not darling? Elsie at A Beautiful Mess used yarn and embroidery thread to create these one of a kind photos by simply stitching abstract patterns into the white space.  I can just see Luther's big puppy eyes and floppy ears surrounded by colourful stitching! (Truth: the pup on the right made me think of him, which made this project a billion times cuter in my eyes!  Bias... I know)

DIY-paper-globe-templateThis is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, short of totally amazing.  As a teacher, my mind went to about 600 different places with this... The possibilities of teaching Geography/History and Math with this are honestly too amazing for words.  As a wannabe home decorator (only of my own home, of course), this is just plain cool.  I saw the post on How About Orange, but the site for the FREE Le Paper Globe template (available in English, French or blank) is here.

apartment therapy blows my mindMind.  Officially.  Blown.  This is possibly (and I don't want these next few words to offend anyone so please refrain from throwing nearby objects at me/the computer screen) better than Pinterest.  Stop flinging your snacks at the screen and allow me to explain... In terms of searching for something specific, this is better.  Have you ever tried to use the search engine on Pinterest?  Most frustrating thing ever because you depend on people being specific with their descriptions of their pins, and how many times have you seen "." as a description?  I'm guilty, I admit.  This can make your pinning BETTER, folks.  You with me now?!?!  Apartment Therapy is responsible for this jaw-dropping news.

community quoteKeeping it a little lighthearted this week.  I can't get enough of this show... is it just me?  I do seem to have a new TV show I'm "obsessed" with every other week, don't I?  Netflix is bringing out bad habits in me... The 4-hour long marathons probably need to stop!

Have a good and sunny weekend!
