What's better than a relaxing night at home? A relaxing night at home with friends and good food! As part of a fun blog hop with some fellow blogging buddies, we're bringing you seasonal party ideas that you can try at home, using both simple and more elaborate decor, so there's something for everyone!As my first party, I wanted to do something that resembles what we would normally do when we have friends over - finger foods and games! Giant Tiger was kind enough to sponsor this season's party, and I was pleasantly surprised by all the things I found there!I set up one of the side tables with dessert, which included fudge, Oreos, fresh strawberries and candy - as long as there's fruit present, it's healthy!To make this get together as simple as possible, I cleared off a few things and put everything we needed right in the living room. For food, we had chicken wings and taquitos because who doesn't love either of those things? I popped some frozen strawberries into a container of water for something refreshing and tasty.On the coffee table we set up a game of Scrabble and had a few other games stored underneath for easy access. A pouf on the floor and soft pillows makes extra seating around the table easy and comfortable!I picked up several of these floral pillows at Giant Tiger, and I LOVE them! They were $10 each and bring in the perfect touch of Spring into the room. So pretty!Needless to say, the food was a hit, and the living room only looks this tidy because I took photos before anyone actually went into the room because I didn't want to be THAT person asking to take pictures while people were enjoying their food and playing a game. Hosting is such a fun thing to do, and it doesn't need to be elaborate or difficult - the most important thing is to be comfortable, eat good food, and enjoy the company!
