One Room Challenge: Laundry Room (Week 5)

I absolutely CANNOT believe that it's week 5 of the challenge. We still have a ton of work to do, and I'm ever so slightly freaked out about the looming deadline just one week from today, but after completing two rooms in a matter of 4 weeks last month, I know we can do it. That last sentence was just one giant dose of me pep-talking myself, by the way.Alright, enough of the self-doubt/pep-talk, let's talk about what did get done over the last week and what still needs to happen. Our Lovely Lemons wallpaper from Walls Need Love arrived, and it is perrrrrrrrrrfect! In every way! I immediately fell even more in love with it once I saw it person, and installed it in the laundry room the very same day. Have I mentioned it's a removable wallpaper? And I totally installed it by myself. It really wasn't that hard to do. I thought about keeping the walls in here white, because I love white... but then I painted a small section of the wall in one of the colours I got two weeks ago, and I ended up really liking it! Now that the wallpaper is up, the peachy colour on the walls doesn't seem like it's too much and I liked it next to the green of the cabinets as well, which is "Lichen" by Fusion Mineral Paint. Hard to see, but here it is.We also added shelves for laundry baskets next to the washing machine and I just need to paint them the same peach as the walls so they blend in a bit more. The doors are being installed tonight, and we opted to do 2 sliding doors. I thought about using regular barn door hardware, but with two doors it meant getting extra hardware that would have cost WAY too much, so we have a little hack happening, and it looks really great! Here's an idea of what the finished product will look like:I painted them in Wrought Iron by Benjamin Moore, which is the colour all of the doors in the house will be.I also got a fun shipment with all of our faux florals and accessories from Afloral this week, and I am so impressed with the quality of the blooms! There's also a faux fiddle leaf fig that I'm insanely excited about!I have no idea what to do with the flowers yet, but I'm hoping to get some time to play around with it next week! Finally, here's what the room looks like at the moment: We have our IKON sink from Blanco, but it's getting installed this week and we'll be DIY-ing the countertops and doors for the cabinet. Fingers crossed it all works out! That will be the last big project in here. It's all coming together better than I had imagined, and I think this little room will be such a bright and fun space! Now wish me all the luck, because I need it!!Don't forget to check out all of the other participating bloggers in the One Room Challenge and the featured designers - there are lots of inspiring projects out there!See you next week for the final reveal!!Last, but not least, a HUGE thanks to all of the people sponsoring this project!
