DIY Coffee Table with Train Table/Storage
No one is more surprised than me that I built a coffee table. Seriously. I almost didn't think this could happen, but I sketched plans in my notebook and eventually even got some proper measurements into SketchUp!You may have seen a few sneak peeks in my Instagram stories for this train table, and today I have the full reveal for you!I have a feeling our boys will LOOOOOOVE this little surprise! There are also full plans available on the BuildSomething.com site today, and you can totally build one of these yourself!I love that most of the train tracks can remain built inside the table, and we can either toss things inside and shut the lid or toss the extra pieces into a storage bin that we can leave under the table, since there is more than 12" of clearance there. As you can see, the top is removable so that the kids can play all around the table, but I added some 1x2's to the bottom of the "lid" so that it won't move around when it's in place.I also have to say that my first experience using a Kreg Jig K4 was life altering. I feel like I could build anything now! And it was so darn easy to use, too!Head over to BuildSomething.com to see the full plans, and check out these other hidden storage ideas from the Modern Handmade Home bloggers! Thanks so much to Kreg Tool Company for sponsoring these projects for us!
