Master Bathroom Makeover - Flooring and Vanity
This week we're talking all about how we chose the flooring and cabinet finishes for Meg and Joe's master bathroom makeover! If you missed it, I introduced this project last week with episode 1 - go catch that first! We knew right off the bat that Megan and Joe wanted a wood-look tile for the bathroom. It works well here since they have carpet in their bedroom, so there would be no concern of having two types of "wood" next to one another. I then knew that the pattern of the tile would be herringbone because there was enough space in the bathroom for it, and herringbone is pretty much always a good idea!Did I mention the floors are also heated? Ohhhh yes. Joe made sure their toes would stay nice and toasty by installing a Schluter floor warming kit. He's also making some seriously impressive tile cuts and you may or may not hear the word 'herringbone' more times than you can count in this week's video!I paid a visit to our local Home Depot store where I made the final selection for the rest of the bathroom tile, which includes a simple bevelled white subway tile for the shower walls, and a marble hexagon mosaic for the floor.Eurostyle has some great options for doors, and we went with Venice which is a contemporary style with a 2 3/4" inch border in a great warm grey. We're also talking a little bit about countertops, but we still have lots of time before that's decided! Here's a quick look at what I have planned for floor tiles, with two options for the white subway tile to go on the walls:See how happy I am to be making these decisions and getting a move on the design of this ensuite?Alright, now let's end the suspense and watch episode to, already! Remember to check out the rest of the participants in the One Room Challenge and we'll see you back here next week!
