I actually can't believe this day has come. The Fall 2019 One Room Challenge is now officially underway and to say I feel underprepared is a massive, huge, enormous understatement, but we're doing it. Marquis and I are tackling it, and we're doing it (mostly) on our own.Ok, so what's "it" exactly? The room we're making over?Well... it's not a room. It's two. Because we've really really lost it!Wanna see?I'm not gonna lie, just the simple act of adding this image to this blog post gave me butterflies. I can't believe we're tackling these spaces, but I am SO. FREAKING. EXCITED. to have a proper room and bathroom to ourselves with no legos, no nursery dressers, no open closet in the room, no terrible fake roman blinds on the windows...Ok, ok... let me show you what I mean. Here's the master bedroom as is (oh man these are embarrassing).Yeah, so even though I manage to get good photos of this room from certain angles, there's a lot that's just not working here for us, and I need to create a better functioning space for us.As for the bathroom, well, that doesn't even exist yet! It's been roughed in for 3 years now!Looks good, right? HA!As you can see, there's a window that runs right where the "doorway" should be, so we'll be leaving that part wide open. Sound weird? Let me show you what we'll be doing... So the plan is to add a pocket door next to the vanity so that the shower and toilet are closed in, but the vanity remains open to the bedroom.In the bedroom, we'll be changing some artwork, moving the "closet" into the room next to the bed (which is unfinished, but that's ok!) and adding a bench and possibly a desk area for me since I now work from my bed or the dining room table - plus it'll be a great makeshift makeup table in the bedroom, too!Alright, so that's all for now, but there are 19 other featured designers who are revealing their spaces today, so you should go check them out!
