One Room Challenge Fall 2019 - Week 5

IMG_3419-scaled.jpg

This update feels like it should have been written at least 2 weeks ago, but due to some delays that were out of anyone's control, we're one week away from the reveal and the bathroom is just now getting things like walls and floors! Crazy, I know...But we've made some big changes and I dare say that there WILL be a reveal next week!Feel free to see all of the other weeks to catch up on what we've been up to!

week 1week 2week 3week 4

This week we finished up some drywall work and added the pocket door - this also means all of the plumbing and electrical work is now finished in here and it's SO nice to have all of that finished so we can finally patch the walls and think about finishing this space! Here's where we started:And here's where we're at now:Once the pocket door frame and wall were finished, we put down the Prodeso Membrane for Heat Wire from The Tile Shop - we'll be installing all of the wiring soon! The Prodeso Membrane for Heat Wire from The Tile Shop is also starting to go in, and good golly I CANNOT WAIT to have a shower in this new space! All of our plumbing fixtures from Signature Hardware are here, and they're like the prettiest things I've ever seen. No joke. I'll write a new update to this post once I've opened everything up.The tile is also finally here. It's HUGE. All of it. And I'm equal parts excited and terrified to install it all. When I was choosing tile for this space, I wanted something that felt classic, but I also wanted a bit of a punch. Because we have blue going on the wallpaper above the vanity, I thought a dark blue tile would be great here as well to tie the two spaces together as one.The tiles we ended up using on the walls are: Mos Metallica Pol Ret Porcelain (24x24)) tile and the Luce Blanco Matte Porcelain wall and floor tile (15x30). On the shower floor, we'll have the Penny Round Light Grey Porcelain mosaic, and the rest of the bathroom floor will be Luce Blanco Matte Porcelain wall and floor tile (15x30).Now let's see that dreaded to-do list:
