Outdoor Dining Made Easy!
Spring is the perfect time to eat outdoors. It's no too hot, not too humid, and not too many mosquitoes have reproduced yet! We take every chance we can get to eat outdoors until the frost comes back, and using our covered porch for that is perfect, because even when it's raining we can enjoy eating al fresco! With the help of Kitchen Stuff Plus, four of my blogging buds and I put together five table settings for you to be inspired by, and today I want to show you mine! (That means this post is sponsored, but as always, I'm keeping it real with you.)I set this up as a simple lunch, and it ended up being both super easy, and surprisingly coordinated with all the mixes of pinks, greens and blues - I really wanted to pull those colours from the gorgeous bowls I mixed with ivory plates, and I love how it all came together! The meal was so super simple: I gathered some plain pitas and put them on this platter, but the pitas hid it completely! On the chip and dip plate, I have a creamy greek salad dressing and salad toppings, plus skewers with chicken, peppers and onions. This way people can choose to make a big salad and add meat and grilled veggies, or fill a pita with whatever they want.I used a colander to hold the fresh greens, and added a couple of citronella candles on either end of the table for any pesky bugs that tried to ruin our lunch! At each setting, I used a lovely wooden charger, a beige melamine dinner plate and printed bowls. I added some acrylic tumblers, and I love the height and texture these all bring! As lovely as it is to have a meal served at the table, I had to have a little area for drinks and dessert, so I set up a small area just for those things. Here I have a few plastic stemless wine glasses next to a beverage dispenser, which I used some adorable wood tags on.Next to the drinks, some simple and refreshing dessert. I used KSP's raspberry lemonade mix to make some adorable popsicles with some fun molds. Then I just cut up some watermelon and laid out strawberries using an existing cake stand and I made sure to add some extra plates for good measure.I set the popsicles on some ice, by the way, to slow down any melting! And this was pretty much it. Pretty simple, but so easy to put together, and I know we'll be using this set-up over and over this season! As a huge bonus to you, you can get a 20% off coupon when you shop at Kitchen Stuff plus!
