The L.O. Turns TWO!

two-2.jpg

Good morning friends of the internet!Do you notice something different about the blog today? Something a little more blush and more gold, perhaps? It's true... The Learner Observer has a new look. Going into year 3 of blogging called for a look that's a lot more subdued, less busy and more me! What do you think? I still have a few kinks to work out, but this is pretty much it!So I missed my own Blogging Anniversary... sort of intentionally. It was yesterday! I wanted to post something short, but I figured I'd save it and make one wordy post today, because we wouldn't have it any other way, right? Wordy is best. In my world, anyway. two 2 Ok, so The L.O. is two, and I kinda sorta can't believe it because I totally didn't think that this little blog of mine would make it this far, be such a huge part of my life, and bring new and exciting opportunities to my life. It's sort of a dream come true... a dream I didn't even know I had!The past year has included my first Blogging Conference (Blog Podium!), becoming a contributor on three other blogs: Remodelaholic, Decoist and LC Living, getting to know even more amazing bloggers (there are too many to name, but you know who you are), actually calling myself a blogger for the first time (it's true, when someone asked what I do, I actually answered :"I'm a substitute teacher and blogger." It was crazy), and of course, I learned all sorts of new things. Last year I broke down the year month-by-month. This year I decided to keep things simpler (see a theme here?) and just share with you one thing that's currently on my mind: blogging is hard. It takes time, dedication, patience, sometimes a thick skin, and tons of hard work. It's not for everyone, and for a while I didn't think it would be for me, but I'm glad I stuck with it for all of the reasons I listed in that last paragraph. The name of my blog was more significant in this last year of its existence than it was in the first. I have OBSERVED people in new ways to see how and why they succeed at doing what they love and I have LEARNED that being true to who you are, what you believe in and what you love is always the best choice. My hope for year 3 is that I'll continue to have the opportunities to observe others and learn from them because that's one of the best things about blogging! Thanks for being readers that encourage me and keep me moving along this bumpy road. As a way to thank you by showering you with gifts, I'm doing another bloggiversary giveaway, and to keep the simple theme going, you won't have to like or follow or tweet anything. Just one comment and a teeny tiny click below will enter you to win a surprise package from me, which will include a piece of art, something thrifted, a yummy treat and something to inspire you. I'll personally make and pick them out for you.
